I love holiday weeks! Having a banker husband who gets all the holidays off work is fantastic. It's been a pretty typical week around here so far. Camden has had nature camp all week at Umstead Park. Unfortunately, it's been one of the rainiest weeks EVER. I was afraid the kids were going to be stuck inside all day, but they've still been taking the kids out! They put on their raincoats, go out in the rain, explore and get muddy. A kid's dream! The little kids and I have been running errands, going to the gym, cleaning the house (well, the kids aren't cleaning. Just me. I need to change that)... like i said - typical. For the fourth tomorrow, we're going to my parents' to cook out. We're having hot dogs, spicy barbecue chicken, and a bunch of sides. I love cookouts!
Anyway... a couple of snapshots of our week.
We went to Home Depot to get a ceiling fan and a small blower for keeping pine straw and leaves off the back porch. The joys of being an adult... The kids were being super sweet (only for a few moments, believe me) and I snapped this picture at the perfect time! Love these three monkeys!
Anderson was hanging his head out of the car window and was cracking us up. His hair is SO long right now, so it looked so funny with the wind blowing through it.
Evelyn wearing Daddy's glasses. Love!
If you have an older child that loves animals and loves to learn, I highly recommend these two magazines. Camden LOVES them and checks the mail quite frequently to see if we've gotten one. They're awesome!
A little afternoon sidewalk chalk. He was creating a maze for me to walk through.
This made me laugh. I put Anderson's breakfast on the table and called to him to tell him that his breakfast was ready. Next thing I know, I look over and Evelyn is sitting in his chair nibbling on his food. I cracked up when I looked and saw that she'd taken little bites out of several of his pancakes. Thankfully, Anderson thought it was funny, too!
I saw this (dead) moth the other day and was so fascinated by his wings that look JUST like leaves! I love how God put such detail in his creation.
Emily snapped this adorable picture of Evelyn standing like a little ballerina! Love it! I had to get my hair cut on Tuesday and Emily's house is right on the way. She graciously agreed to let me drop off my two little monkeys so I could get my hair cut in peace. The kids loved it and I loved getting to hang out for a while and eat lunch together when I got back!
The weather has been so rainy and dreary! Look at those clouds!
Oh, Evelyn. This is another one from Emily's house. She was up in that high chair, and when she climbed down backwards her dress got caught on the chair. She stood there for a good minute and looked so confused. She had no idea what in the world to do about that. So funny.
David and I watched our first couple episodes of Duck Dynasty last night. I think it's safe to say I'm hooked and I see why everyone loves it so much! Si and Phil are amazing.
Sweet Evelyn. Love this cutie patootie.
I bought a huge watermelon from Aldi for $3! You never know quite what you're gonna get when you buy a watermelon, but this is one of the best I've ever had... and I'm pretty picky about my watermelon. If you don't already shop at Aldi, you totally need to try it out. LOVE it!
Happy Wednesday!
