I have been making Anderson's baby food from scratch for the past couple of weeks, and I have to say that I really am thoroughly enjoying it! I knew I wanted to make it to help our family save some money, and just assumed it would be a pretty big task that I would just have to get through. Well, it's funny that it turns out that I actually look forward to making it! I have really found it to be cheaper than buying baby food, and while it's maybe not as "convenient", all it takes is an hour in the kitchen and I've got enough food to last 2 weeks. The book "Super Baby Food" by Ruth Yaron and the website www.wholesomebabyfood.com have both been GREAT references if you are interested in doing this as well!
What I've made so far:
- baby english peas
- green beans
- squash
- sweet potatoes
- carrots
- avocado
- peaches
- pears
- apricots
- mango
- blueberries
- blueberry applesauce
- blueberry pears
I am not a fan of english peas myself, but I did taste them and was amazed by how sweet they were. Anderson is really enjoying baby food (much more than his older brother ever did!) and I feel like he's recently gone through a growth spurt after eating all this yummy food!

yea. that's awesome!! comparing the color of the baby food that comes in the little packages to normal food is enough to know something isn't right about it. good work. :D
Have I mentioned lately what an awesome sister-in-law I have?! Ashley, you are my unofficial mentor! You make me more confident as I hold my newborn.
