4 weeks

Evelyn is 4 weeks old! I would typically say "I can't believe it", but David and I both have said that we feel like she's been around longer than that. Thankfully, things are getting much better around here. The first week and a half to two weeks was quite rough, in all honesty. My hormones have pretty much settled down and we are getting into a good routine... two very good things!

Evelyn eats every 3 hours during the day, starting at 7:30. Her last feeding is at 10:30 pm, but she usually doesn't fall asleep until about 11:30. The past week or so, she's been getting to 4-5am before she needs to eat again. Bliss! In fact, she's only been getting up once to eat in the middle of the night since she was about a week and a half old (which is why I say things started getting better after that... sleep is so crucial to my well-being!). If we could just stretch the 5am feeding to 6am, we'd be set! She has some trouble going to sleep after her 10:30pm feeding, but goes back down pretty easily after her middle of the night/early morning feeding. She sill sleeps a ton during the day, and her most awake time is in the evenings, and she's normally pretty fussy during that time.

Our little girl is quite the eater! She's now up to 4.5 oz every 3 hours. She's growing like a weed. At her 3 week check-up, she was up to 9 lbs. She gained a pound and a half in 2 weeks!! She has also started smiling this week. It's SO precious!

Here are some recent pictures of our little darling.

Yes, she's swaddled in blue! We have a few receiving blankets, but none of them were big enough to swaddle her in. So, i dug out one of the boys' old blankets and it was just the right size!

After her umbilical stump fell off at 2 weeks old, she had her first bath. She does NOT love the bath when you first put her in, but after a minute or two she calms down and seems to enjoy it. LOVE that clean baby smell!

Drying off is a different story... no enjoyment there.

Poor Evelyn had enough tummy time by the time this picture was taken. :)

what a beauty!! i see so much of both camden & anderson in her... but yet, she still looks different than both of them--i LOVE that about brothers and sisters--they look alike--but they dont :) glad she's sleeping (and you are too! wahoo!!)
