the state fair

David and I took the boys to the fair this year!  We have never gone as a family before.  My sweet husband is NOT a fan of the good old NC State Fair.  Well, any fair, for that matter.  Or crowds.  He just doesn't love it.  He can even completely pass on the food.  Don't get him started on the nasty animals and the rides that have to be put together every two weeks as they travel the nation.  So, the fact that he went to the fair this year is a pretty big deal!
This was also Anderson's first time experiencing it all!  He loved it!  Evelyn stayed with my parents.  Just the thought of trying to navigate that place with a stroller gave me a headache.  We got to the fair around 5pm and didn't get home until almost 10pm, so she was fast asleep when we got home.  Thanks, Mom & Dad!

We ate an early dinner before heading to the fair.  The only food item purchased this year was cotton candy for the boys to share.  We fully intended on getting NC State ice cream on our way out, but the line was approximately 23,303,567 people deep, so we passed.  The boys were so sad, so we stopped for a Chick-fil-a ice cream cone on our way home.

The boys LOVED the rides.  I wish we had been able to let them do more, but those tickets are just SO crazy expensive!  Camden has gotten really brave, wanting to go on the REAL DEAL rides.  He's tall enough for a lot of them, believe it or not!!  We didn't do any crazy ones this year... mainly just the ones he could go on with Anderson.

Cara and John went to the fair that night as well, so we hung out with them for a good while!  The boys went on the tilt-a-whirl with them and LOVED it.  I got dizzy just watching them!

This was the first ride they picked.  So fun!

Hang gliding!

Love this picture of us!  We were waiting in line to go on the flying swings.

Of course, we had to see the animals.  We went into this one place that had 65,000 rabbits.  Slight exaggeration, I'm sure, but why do we need to see THAT many rabbits?!

Love this picture, although slightly blurry.

We had a great time, and David survived!  I think he was more than happy to leave when it was time. :)

So happy he decided to go this year! I know it meant a lot to you and the boys! We loved keeping that liitle angel named Evie!

sounds like Leiana must have snuck out and been part of the committee that planned the "rabbit exhibit" ... in her mind, you can NEVER have too many bunnies!
