we are the champions!

Camden just finished his 2nd year of baseball.  He played 2 years of t-ball, then baseball.  He's never been SUPER excited about playing, but he's never been opposed to it, either.  When I ask him if he's excited about practice or a game, he usually nods and says "sure!"  We are proud of him for practicing and playing so willingly even though he's never been just ecstatic about it.  Maybe he will the longer he plays.  It fits his personality well.  You don't have to be terribly aggressive to play baseball.  Sports that don't have a lot of contact are best for him.  For now, anyway.  He's still little. (He just started his first ever golf lessons!  But that's a different post for a different day)

Anywho.  The Nationals practiced very hard and played lots of games, and by the time they got to their last game they had only lost one game all season!  Such a great team, and amazing coaches.  We could tell that Camden really improved this year.

After a long, intense last game, the Nationals WON and that made them the North Wake CHAMPIONS!  This is a big deal in this little league.  There are 16 teams in the 7/8 age group and MY KID'S TEAM WAS THE BEST!  Yes, I'm proud and I'm not afraid to show it.  This was way up there on the list of my proudest moments as a mother.  There is just nothing like it.  It's one of those feelings I think I'll always remember, even long after the children are grown.  SO proud of these guys!

#1!!!

Very sweaty and proud Mom & Dad!

Anderson & Evelyn stayed at Emily's house for the afternoon (the game was during naptime, and it would have been impossible to focus had they been there.  Thanks, Em!!!), and after the game we went  with my parents to Goodberry's to celebrate.  Camden, we are SO proud of you!  Can't wait for another great season next spring!
