my little artist

Camden LOVES to color. Whether it's coloring books or just plain paper...he can sit for a good 45 minutes and color pictures. His creative skills have really started to develop - he draws animals and things that David and I can totally recognize. And of course, he just HAS to hang every picture on the fridge...so every few weeks I have to go through and clean it off without him seeing, or he WILL freak out. One time he went to throw something away in the trash, and apparently I had put one of his pictures in there (from like a month ago), and he says "Mama, why did you throw this away?!?!?!?!" So what does he do? Gets it out of the trash and puts it back on the fridge, even if it is covered in spaghetti sauce. Oh, my child...what a character. One of my goals is to get a big bulletin board to hang in the playroom for his pictures and drawings. That way the fridge won't be so cluttered! I just cleaned off the fridge a few days ago...but kept his most recent pictures up. Here is some of his artwork!

little picasso! i think i saw a giraffe in one of those pictures... right?
great idea about a bulletin board to display his work. you could also get a three-ring binder with the plastic page protectors and keep some in there! it would be cute to give him one day (or to show his future wife... ahem...mecaden)

oh, how well i remember this too! Don't think of it as being cluttered first. you really should try to find a special place to store his "best" art. Also encourage him to share his work with others (we would love some). Soon enough this phase will pass and your fridge will be covered with schedules, etc. What a precious boy "we" have. Ah, miss y'all so much!
