a letter for eric carle

Camden LOVES Eric Carle books. Has loved them for as long as I can remember. It makes perfect sense, though, since Camden loves animals so much. His books are beautiful, creative, and always about animals. The other day, Camden said he wanted to draw a picture for Mr. Carle. Normally, I'd just sort of do the "smile-and-nod", but I decided to look online to see if Eric Carle had some sort of fan site, with an address that we could send him what Camden made. I found an address, and I made a mental note to send him whatever Camden ended up making him, if he ever actually did.

This was a few days ago, when he said he was going to draw the picture, but I never heard anything about it again. Well, tonight while Anderson was in the bathtub, I was doing some tidying up in Camden's room when I found this on his art table:

I. am. obsessed. I had no idea he had done this. I love the end when he wrote, "Plese writt back". Though I will have to explain to him that it's extremely unlikely he will get a letter back, I'm sure Mr. Carle will be delighted to receive his letter and picture. I just think this is so precious. I love to see the results of what Camden does up in his room during quiet time. In my humble opinion, I think Mr. Carle is awfully lucky to receive such a sweet letter! :)
