north myrtle beach 2011

We were so blessed to be able to spend a long weekend at the beach a couple of weekends ago. My parents were so generous to let us have a few days there to stay in their condo when they could have gone themselves! We had SO much fun and it went by way too fast, as usual! We got there Friday at lunchtime, and left Monday morning. This is the same condo and beach I grew up going to, so it is always so fun to bring the boys and do the things I used to do when I was little.

We started at Barefoot Landing, where we wasted a little time before we could check in to the condo. We walked around and went in all the toy stores, of course.

Of course, the boys wanted to do all the cheesy, touristy things, and I had to take pictures. :)

Right before we could check in, we headed to the grocery store to stock up for the weekend. We got a pizza to eat for dinner that night, and food to eat at the condo for lunch each day. Here are the boys enjoying their pizza and Camden being his silly self.

After an early dinner, we headed out to the beach for the first time of the weekend around 6pm. It was nice to not have to worry about sunscreen!

Sweet sandy toes!

Our condo... so awesome to be right on the beach!

Silly goose... this is what he does when I tell him to smile and say cheese!

My little beach bum... a boy after my own heart!

Our first morning at the beach... it was so fun to wake up and be able to go on the balcony to enjoy the sights.

Just beautiful! What a great thing to wake up to.

Anderson still looking a little sleepy... that's what happens when you wake up at 6am on the dot!

Breakfast on the balcony.

Praise the Lord for Blue Bell. That's all I need to say about that. Yes, we finished an entire half-gallon in 3 days.

About 2 condos down from ours, there is this big area of water we always call "the lake". It has been here for as long as I can remember! It's a great shallow area of standing water for little kiddos who need a break from the rough waves.

Anderson loved it!

When we weren't on the beach our out "shopping", there was plenty of good TV to watch. Since we don't have cable at home, the kids were loving the 3 or 4 different channel choices!

What a fun weekend! The beach is exhausting with little kids, but SO fun. We skipped Anderson's nap the day we arrived and the day we left, but the 2 full days in between we knew he'd need a nap after being out on the beach all morning. While he napped, I got off my feet and watched the Food Network (the one reason I miss cable!) while David and Camden went back out on the beach for a couple of hours. Camden LOVES being out in the water and loved "riding the waves" in. He had a little boogie board that used almost the whole time. Needless to say, he was w.o.r.n. o.u.t. by the time they came in. I am so glad he was able to enjoy it so much! Crazy to think we'll have 3 munchkins next time we go! Can't wait!

I'm so glad you guys were able to go down to the beach and have a sweet memory with just the four of you. That "Lake" area is SO cool! I know my kids would stay there all day. Probably makes it easier on the parents watching too. Anderson and Bryce would be two peas in a pod with their early rising times. When we go to my grandmother's house who is on central time, he is still on eastern time and wakes up around 5 instead of his usual 6. Makes for good nap times or very early bed times. Love all the pictures of your adorable family.

Love that Texas shirt Anderson is wearing and the fact that you guys love Blue Bell ice cream which is so hard to find here but almost everywhere in TX!
