We had a great weekend! If only they didn't go by so quickly. Saturday morning, bright and early, Camden had a baseball game. We had to leave our house by 8. Not my favorite way to start a Saturday (the only and only day we can "sleep in"(meaning 7am)). We had a great time though, and the weather was just gorgeous.
After the game we headed to Brier Creek and ate lunch at Qdoba, since they were giving out free kids meals for Cinco De Mayo. Yes please! We love that place anyway, so when there are freebies - we're there.
Apparently Camden was so full from lunch that he had to take a break afterward. Good thing there was a bench nearby.
After lunch, strawberry picking! Finally! We've been trying to go the last 3 weekends, but either a schedule conflict or the weather has kept us from going. It was HOT though, which was a bummer. Didn't feel very spring-like! Oh well. We had a good time and got lots of berries. Strawberry picking season goes until the first of June, but I'm afraid of what those berries will be like at that point. The ones we got this weekend are at the peak of ripeness, so they are already getting very soft. If you haven't gone and are planning to still go this year, go NOW! Hurry!
We went to church Sunday morning. One of our sweet students is very talented with video-making, so he filmed us telling our testimony several weeks ago. We finally showed it to our class yesterday. I'm telling you... watching myself on video is one of my least favorite things in life. ;) I survived, though. After the video, we had a discussion about the Marriage Amendment. It was interesting to hear some different points of view from the kids in our class and what they think about it all. Obviously they cannot vote yet (sophomores in high school), but several of them seem pretty clued in to what's going on in the political world!
After a yummy lunch at my brother and sis-in-law's house, we came home for quiet time. While the boys played upstairs quietly and Evie napped, David and I watched golf. And I actually enjoyed it. It was fun getting to see Webb in the lead (he's a high school friend, a year younger than us). Unfortunately, he didn't win! We had a super quick supper, then David and Camden went to their first Durham Bulls game of the season! Anderson, Evie and I ran to Michaels, then went into the pet store next door for some free entertainment.
It was Evie's first time in a pet store! Her reactions to these animals she's never seen before were quite hilarious (to me, anyway):
"What in the world is that thing?"
"Umm, I'm not so sure about this..."
My personal favorite:
We came home, I folded some laundry, and then we headed upstairs to get ready for bed.
Little did I know that Anderson was going to end up needing go to "stinky" and had to sit on the potty for FORTY FIVE minutes before anything happened. Sigh... life with kids.
Kids finally went to bed.
I came downstairs to this: homemade chocolate cake made by Will & becca. I had already had a huge piece after lunch that day, but that didn't stop me from eating another piece that night. Don't judge me. Seriously, I said don't!
Stop!
A few minutes later, David texted me this picture of all the kids running the bases when the game was over. You know the kids just think they're the coolest things ever. Camden is second from the front, green shirt & blue hat. Love it!
Hope you had a fabulous weekend!

Love those facial expressions as well! Such a precious daughter you have!
And, I can't judge you, because Will and I totally had a piece for snack last night as well!
Saturday looks like such a fun day! We enjoyed lunch with everybody Sunday after church. Yes! That cake was fabulous! Thanks will and becca. Evie's looks are hilarious...I agree!!!
That cake looks amazing! I'm not judging b/c I would've done the same thing... I have a slight weakness for anything sugary :-D.
Was it Josh that filmed you guys? He LOVES doing that stuff!
Kimberly, it was Alex Hendrix who filmed. Dint know josh was into it! We did see him at chickfila tonight though! :)

You all just have the sweetest family and you're brilliant for the pet store idea! Endless free fun! Love David's hat too- our next door neighbor in H-town plays for the Astros.
Did you all go to Paige Farms? That's the closest one to us and I can't believe we haven't been yet! Thanks for the reminder.
And btw, you look great on camera. David on the other hand... Ha just kidding. That was a really great video you guys made, and I think it made an impact on the kids.
