Halloween festivities become so much more fun the older the kids get. I've never loved Halloween, but it's fun to see the little ones enjoy it.
We started off the weekend by cutting up a few of our little pumpkins and planting some seeds, then roasting the rest. Camden tried roasted pumpkin seeds when his class made them at school last week and LOVED them, so he begged for me to make some too.
He's got his little paper with directions on how to plant the seeds. He went outside to get started before I met him out there, and I realized he had started planting right in the middle of the yard. I didn't have the heart to tell him we needed to move after all his hard work digging a big hole. Oh well... if pumpkins start to grow in the middle of the yard, I guess we'll deal with that when and if the time comes. :)
Saturday night we headed to my parents neighborhood for their annual Pig Pickin'. They had a kids' halloween costume contest, so of course we all dressed up our cute little ones.
Camden the pirate, Anderson the chicken, and Anna-Kate, the cutest little duck. Anderson wasn't always too sure about his costume. If you think Camden's costume looks familiar, it is. It's the same one he wore last year. When he said he wanted to just be a pirate again, I didn't argue too hard with him! I was willing to buy him a new one, but he loves the pirate. The pants were just a little shorter this year. :)
David carved this pumpkin without any stencils or anything. We also didn't have any carving tools (lazy!) so he just used a paring knife. I think he did a pretty great job, considering! Camden helped put hair on him. :)
Sunday night we headed to church for our annual fall festival. I think we have gone every year but one since Camden was born. It's always such a fun time and the kids love getting to play games, go down a big slide, and ride ponies.
We left the fall festival a little early to come back and so some trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. I didn't get any pictures of that since it was so dark. My camera doesn't take good night pictures. The kids had so much fun and we ended up with SO much candy! This picture doesn't even show a fourth of what we came home with. My, oh my!

You have the sweetest family!! I got to talk to your Mom and Dad on Sunday. They got to meet my kids and I told them that K1 was now the same age as you were when you started babysitting my kids. Still makes me feel very old.
Thanks for posting the pictures! Too cute!
