swimming lessons

Today was an exciting day for all of us! Camden started his first session of swimming lessons! This really makes him seem grown up to me. We are taking them at the YMCA, and it's a 6-week session, each one lasting almost an hour. It was SO fun to watch Camden from a distance and see him following directions so well. Today they just did a few introductory things, but hopefully by the end of the 6 weeks he'll be swimming like a pro - with no floaties! :)

Waiting so patiently before lessons start.

Camden and this little boy were having so much fun splashing their feet!

Here is one if his teachers showing him how to paddle his arms to keep him afloat.

Observing the other boys and girls. He's definitely a people-watcher! I think he got that from his Opa.

So much fun!

Yay Cam! You were great with swimmies, I know you'll do great without them!

I learned to swim at the Y too! Same time of year- actually, my brother and sister did too, on different days. Of course I had to go and watch them, and the day before Easter (on their lesson day) we arrived and the lessons were cancelled, and it was a free-swim day! I cried so hard because I wanted to jump in with my clothes on and my dad wouldn't let me. Now why wouldn't he want my sopping wet clothes soaking his car seats? So sad. So, FYI about those Day Before Easter free swims, if that still happens :)
